Dorothy May Kinnicutt — "Sister" Parish — founded Parish-Hadley with Albert Hadley and decorated the Kennedy White House. She is credited with codifying the American Country aesthetic: hooked rugs, painted floors, four-poster beds, English chintz layered against simple American antiques.
