Profile
Jean-Michel Frank stripped the Parisian luxury interior down to parchment walls, straw marquetry, and a few perfect objects — Giacometti lamps, leather sofas, sharkskin tables. Clients included the Rockefellers, the Noailles, and Hermès. His work was the spiritual ancestor of every minimalist interior that came after.
Visual language
Parchment walls, straw marquetry, low neutral seating, Giacometti bronze, near-empty rooms.
